The proposal seeks an upscaled low-rise perimeter block approach that suggests a large open space at its centre. ‘Living around the Forest’ aims to combine density in suburban contexts while increasing the scale and quality of the public amenities. The proposal includes linked housing typologies that benefit from a huge landscape that brings cooling, ecological lifestyles and additional amenities in the backyard. The housing typologies are flexible within their footprints following the natural boundaries of the site.
– Building footprints are minimised over multiple storeys to maximise interaction with the forest. This allows for a flexible arrangement of sleeping and living.
– Buildings compactness and multiple-orientations allow for optimized solar gain and loss, cross ventilation and unrestricted views and privacy.
– Large centralised facilities in the forest have the possibility to incorporate and meet external demands to benefit the larger community.

Today we are sharing with you a very beautiful and unusual project – The Rain Water Catcher in San Jose. The basic concept of the rain catcher is to address the global impact of climate change by advocating the need for water conservation towards the reduction of carbon footprint guided by net-zero design principles.
This is a competition project whose idea was inspired by the San Jose Electric Light Tower, the competition was not intended to replicate or reimagine this structure. Applicants were encouraged to use unique but sustainable lighting in their work. However, everyone had to consider the original light tower only as a source of inspiration.

The images themselves are 90% CGI with some photography filling in some of the more distance and iconic buildings on Duke Street which leads down to the docks and the far end of Liverpool One. We even got to model the famous Wolstenholme Square “balls-on-stems” sculpture! We went for a muted tonal pallet overall with soft light/shadows and, as the streets are quite narrow, in order to get more light and interest in the lower parts of the images, we opted for post rain streets so we could bring down sunny highlights into the shaded areas through reflections.
The Aspire Tower is a 300 meter tall Skyscraper designed by Architect Hadi Simaan. It was a Landmark of the 2006 Asian Games held in Doha.
The place is known as the Sports City of Qatar as it holds various games and the stadium behind the tower is one of the stadiums which will host the 2022 Fifa world Cup.
I wanted to reimagine the way the tower will look in a dramatic manner, and intensify its beauty.
The tower is a metal structure on the outer layer composed of light layers that often produces advertisements and announcements.
